In the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, which has 102 hotels and guesthouses with 6,434 rooms, the Mandalay Earthquake partially damaged 99 hotels and caused three to collapse, while over 150 tourists are staying in bed spaces and more than 1,500 residents have been accommodated in the remaining establishments.
The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism stated that 42.5 per cent of hotels hit by the Mandalay Earthquake in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory have resumed business operations.
Of the hotels damaged by the Mandalay Earthquake, 63 hotels and guesthouses having 2,735 accommodation rooms were repaired and returned to normal operations after a post-earthquake usability assessment of the building with the recognized engineers.
There are a total of 102 hotels and guesthouses in the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, with 6,434 rooms. Of them, 99 were partially damaged by the Mandalay Earthquake. Three hotels collapsed.
