Farmers in Paukkhaung Township, Pyay District, Bago Region mainly focus on paddy cultivation and this year, it is estimated to cultivate over 40,000 acres of monsoon paddy.

            Some acres of monsoon paddy have been cultivated in villages of the township. Monsoon paddy cultivation begins in June and July and after harvesting in December, winter crops are also cultivated. This way will keep soil conservation and good agricultural practices will be provided to exceed the target, according to the Township Department of Agriculture.

            In the township, Taung Na Win Dam supplies water for summer crops including paddy, peanut, corn and different types of beans.
