Kanbalu, 14 July

Out of 22,654 acres of summer paddy planted in Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region, a total of 9,215 acres have been harvested since late May, yielding an average of 83.84 bushels per acre, according to the Township Agriculture Department.

“We’ve guided farmers on timely harvesting, proper storage, and maintaining seed quality to reduce losses,” said U Myo Zaw, head of the township’s Agriculture Department. He noted that boosting yields can help meet local food needs and improve farmers’ incomes by selling surplus rice.
