A total of 98,541 acres of rain-fed crop varieties have been successfully cultivated in Kyaukse Township, Mandalay Region, during the 2025–2026 fiscal year, according to the Township Agriculture Department.

 

The cultivated area includes: 52,334 acres of rain-fed paddy, 300 acres of Sinpadetha groundnut, 3,760 acres of Sinyadana-4 sesame, 2,687 acres of Sinswe-2 sunflower, 480 acres of Yesin-1 sunflower, 9,356 acres of Yesin-11 mung bean, 6,773 acres of peas, 940 acres of Shwedinga pigeon pea, 935 acres of dimon chili, 680 acres of chili, 232 acres of tomato, 465 acres of lady finger (okra), 1,815 acres of other vegetables, 2,994 acres of sorghum, 1,691 acres of corn, 9,332 acres of cattle feed, 993 acres of turmeric, 620 acres of Shwedaung-8 cotton, 802 acres of Shwedaung-10 cotton, 655 acres of B-31 cotton and 857 acres of Raka cotton.

 

Rain-fed crops in Kyaukse are grown using irrigation water, rainwater, and groundwater, depending on the location and conditions of the fields. Officials from the relevant departments are working closely with farmers to provide technical assistance, quality seeds, and adequate irrigation to ensure successful cultivation and higher yields.— Township IPRD
