Paukkaung, 9 October

Paukkaung Township in the Bago Region has successfully completed the cultivation of 59,164 acres of rain-fed paddy for this year, according to the Township Department of Agriculture.

Farming is the primary livelihood for most residents in Paukkaung Township. With the support of the Taungnawin Reservoir, the township has met its seasonal planting target as of 9 October.

The Township Agriculture Department is also conducting field inspections and providing farmers with essential equipment and training in modern agricultural practices. These efforts aim to encourage cultivation beyond the designated acreage and to boost overall crop yields.— Phone Kyaw Zin (IPRD)
