UNION Minister for Ministry 1 of the President’s Office U Tin Aung San attended the 70th Anniversa­ry of Kayin State Day ceremony held on the grounds of the state government office yesterday.

 

It was attended by Union Minister for Agriculture, Live­stock and Irrigation U Min Naung, Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, Kayin State Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo and his wife, Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, Leader of the Central Advisory Body of the National Defence and Security Council U Saw Tun Aung Myint, members, other relevant officials and locals.

 

The ceremony began with a flag salute and a tribute to na­tional leaders and fallen heroes.

 

A message from Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and State Se­curity and Peace Commission Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing was read by Union Minister U Tin Aung San, and the State chief minister made a greeting speech.

 

The Union minister and the party cut the ribbon to inaugurate the ceremony and released 70 white doves representing peace.

 

They presented cash prizes to the members of band, pompom dance troupe and traditional don dance troupes, and had a doc­umentary taken, and observed the booths of the department concerned, ethnic people, local products and MSMEs.

 

The Union minister re­marked at the award ceremony for Vegetables, Fruits, and Horti­culture Exhibition and Competi­tion at the gallery of the Depart­ment of Agriculture.

 

The Union minister and the party presented prizes to the winners.

 

At noon, they attended the award ceremony for traditional boat race at Kanthaya Lake in Hpa-an, and presented awards to the winners. They then watched the traditional boxing competition at Thiri Than Lwin ground.

 

In the evening, they watched the competition of Kayin tradi­tional don dance troupes at the Thiri Ground of Hpa-an.

 

On 6 November, the Union minister and the party attend­ed the conferring ceremony of honorary certificates and tiles marking the 70th Kayin State Day ceremony, and a total of 86 prizes were presented to the outstand­ing people in different sectors at the event.

 

The Union minister also at­tended the opening ceremony of Avenue Park in Ward 5, Hpa-an, and inspected the park and Youth Centre in the same ward.

 

In the evening, they watched the competitions of Kayin tradi­tional dance troupes and present­ed cash prizes. — MNA/KTZH
