A press conference for the 2026 AFC U17 Women’s Qualifiers Group C, in which the Myanmar U17 women’s team is competing was held at the press briefing hall of Thuwunna YTC in Yangon yesterday. Head coaches from Myanmar, Indonesia, and Macau SAR attended the event.
Myanmar U17 women’s head coach Tashio said, “I am delighted to host the qualifiers as the home team. I have encouraged my players to work hard and set their own ambitions. Although there is some pressure, we are determined to win. During the past three months, we have focused on improving both the players’ technical and tactical abilities. I have also taught them to make their own decisions not only on the pitch but off the pitch as well. We will strive hard to achieve success”.
Indonesia U17 women’s head coach Timo said, “I grew up in Indonesia and later studied at a university in the United States. We carefully selected players nationwide, giving them enough time to prepare. Although we had hoped to play more matches, we were disappointed when the Mongolian team withdrew. For me, the goal is not only to win but also to help the girls develop their football skills and play better”.
Macau SAR head coach Chen Yang said, “Most of our players are students as well as amateur players. It was challenging to select the team, and some of them even play futsal. Since most of our players are still learning, they will face many challenges. We are here to enjoy football and learn how to play happily rather than focusing solely on winning”.
Group C of the AFC U17 Women’s Qualifiers features Myanmar, Indonesia, and Macau SAR.
