THE Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Myanmar organized a media exchange to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese and the World Anti-Fascist War. The event, held as the third China-Myanmar Media Exchange, took place yesterday morning at the Wyndham Grand Hotel in Yangon.
Deputy Minister for Information U Ye Tint, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ms Ma Jia, representatives from Chinese news agencies based in Myanmar, media organizations from both Myanmar and China, officials from the Ministry of Information, and invitees attended the discussion.
The session opened with the screening of a video clip titled “The Significance of the Chinese Long March Army’s Entry into Myanmar Battlefields during World War II”.
Following the screening, Chinese Ambassador Ms Ma Jia noted that the media exchange served as a platform for peace-loving nations and peoples to collectively preserve historical memory while fostering a brighter future together.
Deputy Minister U Ye Tint highlighted the importance of avoiding conflicts and wars, stressing that nations should uphold the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence while nurturing mutual understanding, support, harmony, and stability. He expressed hopes that neighbouring and regional countries would continue to live together as good neighbours in the future.
The exchange concluded with discussions between officials from the Ministry of Information and media representatives from Myanmar and China, focusing on strengthening cooperation for regional peace and community building. — MNA/ KZL
