Price of pigeon peas falls by over K100,000

The price of one tonne of RC black bean was K2.9 million and one tonne of SQ/RC black bean was high at K3,145,000 while the price of one tonne of pigeon peas decreased to K3,750,000 in the Yangon bean market on 14 November.

 

One tonne of RC black bean reached below K2.9 mil­lion from 6 to 13 November and rose to K2.9 million on 14 November in the Yangon bean market.

 

The price of pigeon peas was at K4,075,000 per tonne from 29 September to 3 No­vember, and the price dropped to K39,000 from 6 to 13 Novem­ber.

 

The price of one tonne of pigeon peas dropped to K3,750,000 on 14 November, and a day later, the price dropped by K150,000 per tonne.

 

These two types of beans are still at high prices this month due to the demand for Myanmar’s beans and pulses from India, which is the main buyer. A bean price analyst said that the price changes between 2022 and 2023 of these two types of beans are unique.

 

The price of one tonne of RC black beans reached K1,690,000 on 2 January.

 

The price of black bean hit K2,937,500 on 31 October, the highest price until now in 2023.

 

The price of one tonne of pigeon peas reached the highest price of K1,755,000 on 2 January and K4150,000 on 8 September but the price dropped to K3,750,000 on 14 November. This year, the price of one tonne of pigeon peas has increased by K2,975,000 compared to last year in 2022. — TWA/KZL
