A prize-presenting ceremony celebrating Dhammacakka Day was held at Zabuthiri Beikman in Mayangon Township, Yangon Region.

 

The ceremony was organ­ized by Venerable Ashin Pakta Linkara. During the event, U Mann Maung, Chairman of the National Federation for Dham­macakka Propagation, delivered a speech of thanks. Officials pre­sented awards, certificates of appreciation, cash prizes, and medals to the winners of the Dhammacakka article compe­tition and to the three winning teams of the Dhammacakka recitation ceremony.

 

In the Dhammacakka article competition (freelance category), organized by the Dhammacak­ka Propagation Association of the Dhamma Pala Foundation, the first prize was awarded to U Aung Kyaw Htoo from Ma­ yangon Township. The second prize went to Sing Kha Thu (also known as U Kyi Thaung) from Kyauktada Township, and the third prize was awarded to Aung Chit Soe (Latha), also known as U Than Maung, from Thakayta Township.

 

In the Dhammacakka reci­tation competition, the first prize went to the Sasana Yaungchi Team, the second prize to the Ponyakari Team, and the third prize to the Buddha Yaungchi Team from Wards 3 and 4, Kyai­klat Township, Ayeyawady Re­gion.

 

The winners of the Dham­macakka article competition (freelance category) and the Dhammacakka recitation com­petition received K1 million for first prize, K700,000 for second prize, K500,000 for third prize, and K300,000 each for two con­solation prizes.

 

The ceremony was attend­ed by the Associate Secretary Sayadaw of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee (Ma­hana), along with monks, officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, donors, and members of Dhammacakka rec­itation associations. — ASH/TH
