THE documentary programme Prosperous Lancang-Mekong Home, which features footage filmed in China, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam, will be compiled and edited, and then distributed for broadcast on television channels in the respective countries.
In August, Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) under the Ministry of Information collaborated with Guangxi Radio and Television from Nanning, China, to film parts of the documentary in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, and Bago.
From 12 to 15 August, the Guangxi Radio and Television team, working together with MRTV, filmed the provision of clean drinking water in Aungtha Village, Nay Pyi Taw; research activities at the Forest Research Department in Yezin; and the ongoing work at the National Herbal Garden of the Herbal Nursery in Nay Pyi Taw.
Similarly, from 16 to 19 August, filming continued in Bago’s Ywathit Village, focusing on projects implemented with special funds under the Lancang-Mekong cooperation. In Yangon, the team also recorded footage at Sitagu International Buddhist Academy in Dagon Myothit (North) and cityscapes. Additionally, at the Ministry of Science and Technology’s Department of Research and Innovation, the crew documented activities related to food innovation under the 2020 Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Programme. They also filmed at the Solar Energy Exhibition Centre and the National Laboratory, capturing MSME development work, testing of raw materials and product quality, and the use of large-scale dryers for processing pennywort leaves into dried and powdered form. — ASH/ KNN
