CHAIRMAN of the State Ad­ministration Council Com­mander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye, Com­mander-in-Chief (Navy) Vice-Ad­miral Htein Win, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Com­mander-in-Chief and officials, on 23 September and yesterday, inspected the arrangements being made for peace and stability in PyinOoLwin Station in the Central Command.

 

At Nawaday Hall of Defence Services Academy, Commander Brig-Gen Kyaw Ko Htaik and the commander of PyinOoLwin Station reported to the Senior General on measures being taken for security, peace and stability of the region and seizures of arms and munitions from terrorists in carrying out se­curity measures.

 

After hearing the reports, the Senior General stressed the need to implement systematic measures to ensure local security, peace and sta­bility in PyinOoLwin Station. He un­derlined that it is necessary to gath­er comprehensive information on the regions where they serve duties for regional organizational works and control measures in the station.

The Senior General empha­sized that local Tatmadaw units must at one with and cooperate with residents in undertaking security measures for the re­gions and residents.

 

In the afternoon, the Senior General inspected the construc­tion of a six-storey Thumingala Market (Nyantaw Market) in PyinOoLwin, where Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung reported on the progress of works, a circular road of the market, car parks, lifts, ordi­nary steps, plans to open shops on each floor, playgrounds and cinemas, and arrangements to install solar panels for generat­ing electricity.

 

In his response, the Senior General gave guidance that it is necessary to take worksite safety and proper flow of water in drains into consideration. He urged officials to supervise the systematic allocation of shops upon completion of the build­ing. Solar systems must be im­plemented to electrify shops and lifts. He added that the advanced market aims to sell domestic products and essen­tial personal goods in a single place. He noted that the market must be a model for PyinOoL­win. The Senior General high­lighted that meat, vegetables and crops must be packaged systematically for sale. He un­derscored that it is necessary to consider systematic car parks for the operation of restaurants and shops for visits of local and foreign travellers during festi­val seasons.

 

The Senior General viewed round progress of the six-sto­rey market and left necessary instructions.

 

He then paid homage to Maha Shwemyintin Pagoda in PyinOoLwin and made cash donations.

 

The Senior General and party also paid homage to the Buddha image at the Pada footprint hall of the pagoda. — MNA/TTA
