FOLLOWING the Mandalay earthquake, various organizations work closely with locals to support rebuilding damaged sites.

Lt-Gen Myo Thant Naing from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and officials inspected completed modular container houses in the compound of Kyaukse district offices in Suugon Ward yesterday and selected new sites for further construction.

They attended a water rescue training event organised by the Kyaukse Fire Department, observed rescue boat demonstrations and practical water rescue exercises in Minye Dam, Bawgawady Ward, Kyaukse and presented cash awards.

Officials also reviewed repairs and resumed operations at the TOP Myanmar woven bag factory and the Kiyo-Myanmar Healthy Fruit and Veggie Chips factory in Sintkaing Township. They visited damaged pagodas, monasteries, homes and buildings in Bilin village and other areas battered by the earthquake.
