THE government investigates the damage in quake-hit areas and conducts the rescue work promptly. It also opens ways for foreign-aided humanitarian in-kind assistance. Three UAE military aircraft carrying UAE rescue teams, medics, nurses and humanitarian supplies ar­rived at Yangon International Airport yesterday morning.

 

It included 79 members of recuse team members, medics and nurses, 15 vehicles and 67,685 kilogrammes of recuse items and supplies.

 

Yangon Region Chief Min­ister U Soe Thein, regional ministers and other officials of ministries concerned wel­comed and coordinated to distribution of the relief items to quake-hit areas. — MNA/ KTZH
