A rice distribution ceremony for flood-affected households from Htone Ma Kyi Village was held on 21 August at Petaw Monastery in Chhin Taung Village, Minbu (Saku) Township, Magway Region.

U Myint Myint, Chairman of the Township Disaster Management Team, and Daw Kay Thwe Win, Assistant Director of the Minbu District Disaster Management Department, addressed attendees on the purpose of the support. A total of Ks 1,055,000 in rice rations was provided to 221 people from 64 households displaced by flooding on 20 August.

The displaced residents, along with their livestock, have been temporarily relocated to higher ground, including Kyauk Kone, Petaw Monastery, Oak Kyawng Monastery, and Than Kan Tan-7. Additional support will be given if more households require relocation.—Maung Maung (Minbu)
