Under the supervision of the Maubin District Rural Development Department, Ayeyarwady Region, rural water supply projects have been completed in four villages in Pantanaw Township. These projects, aimed at providing sufficient access to clean drinking water for rural communities, were inspected this morning by the district head and officials in Thaekone, Kansu, Aiklay, and Pidauksu villages.
During the inspection, U Aung Kyaw Oo, Head of the Maubin District Rural Development Department, and his team examined the completed test drilling of four wells—each 400 feet deep and four inches in diameter—as well as associated infrastructure works in the four villages.
The district head also met with members of the Village Water Committees to discuss strategies for maintaining the wells and ensuring their long-term usability. Necessary follow-up measures were coordinated during the discussions.
For the 2025–2026 fiscal year, the Maubin District Rural Development Department is implementing rural water supply projects in 15 villages across four townships—Maubin, Pantanaw, Nyaungdon, and Danubyu—using Ks 175 million in Union funds and Ks 22.5 million provided by the Ayeyarwady Region Government.— Cho Than Nyunt (DRD)
