A Russian delegation led by the Russian Federation’s No­vosibirsk Governor, Mr Andrey Travnikov, visited Naypyitaw State Academy yesterday.

 

On arrival at the Naypy­itaw State Academy, Rector Dr Nu Nu Lwin and officials wel­comed them, and briefed the intentions of the establishment of the academy, high-quality learning systems aligned with international-standard curric­ula in respective fields to nur­ture educated youths needed for nation-building, using modern teaching aids, research labo­ratories, and practical training equipment by the teachers.

 

The Governor and the Ed­ucation Minister of Novosibirsk then clarified that Novosibirsk is one of the largest science and education centres in Russia, with 50 universities that deliver science and applied sciences, useful subjects being taught at Novosibirsk State University, the largest institution, existence of the Novosibirsk Institute for Arts, and other matters.

 

They observed the library and laboratory of the Naypyitaw State Academy.

 

The Russian delegation met Union Minister for Education Dr Chaw Chaw Sein at the meet­ing hall of the Naypyitaw State Academy.

 

They exchanged views on potential cooperation between Myanmar universities and those in the Novosibirsk Region, in­cluding sending rectors and education officials from Novo­sibirsk universities to Myan­mar for academic exchanges, collaboration on AI and MSME research projects, reciprocal exchange programmes for My­anmar and Russian students, arranging study tours for the Private Schools Superviso­ry Board to Novosibirsk, and fostering cooperation with stu­dents from Yangon and Man­dalay Universities of Foreign Languages, and enhancement of cooperation in education sec­tor, and exchanged gifts.

 

Union Minister for Reli­gious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin hosted a dinner for the Russian delegation at Jasmine Naypyitaw Hotel.

 

Union Minister for Trans­port and Communications U Mya Tun Oo, deputy ministers, relevant officials and invitees attended the event.

 

During the dinner, the ar­tistes of the Department of Fine Arts performed, and the Union minister and the Novosibirsk governor presented flower bouquets to the performers. — MNA/KTZH
