THE Russian Pacific Fleet’s frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov, corvette Gre­myashchiy, and support vessel Boris Butoma arrived at Thilawa Port in Yangon, Myanmar, yesterday evening for the third Myanmar-Russia joint naval security exercise and a good­will visit.

They were welcomed by senior officers and servicemen of Tatmad­aw (Navy), as well as Vice-Admiral Aleksei Anatolievich Kiiashko, Dep­uty Commander of the Russian Navy, and the Russian Military Attaché to Myanmar.

 

The visiting vessels are com­manded by Captain 1st Rank Ulya­nenko Aleksey of the Russian Pacific Fleet, accompanied by officers and crew members. During their visit, they are scheduled to tour notable sites in Yangon, participate in friendly sports competitions, and conduct har­bour-phase exercises. — MNA/MKKS
