Sagaing region chief minister Dr. Myint Naing, the region Hluttaw speaker, regional ministers and party on yesterday afternoon left the town of Monywa for Ye-U, Khin-U and Shwebo townships to inspect damage inflicted by the earthquake that shook at 9:39 pm on August 31. 


Chief Minister Dr. Myint Naing and party arrived in Ye-U at 1:00 pm and offered offertories to the presiding monk at Mingalarama monastery in Aungmingalar ward. Then, they inspected damage to Sutaungpyi Buddha image, a new religious building in Aungmingalar ward, damage to a pagoda in Tantabin monastery in Boaungzeya ward, damages to Phaungdawoo pagoda in Mae O village.


During his inspection tours, chief minister Dr Myint Naing provided responsible persons with guidelines on recovery works. Then, He gave financial assistance to Daw Khin New from Pyinhtaung village in Khin-U Township who is receiving medical treatment in Ye-U People’s hospital due to injuries sustained in the earthquake.


 Then, the chief minister and party looked into Phanchetwan pagoda and Basic Education High School (branch) in Thawuthti village, a pagoda in Thagara village which have fallen into ruin by the earthquake before offering offertories to the presiding monk.


 Afterwards, the chief minister and party inspected the ceilings in the meeting hall of Shwebo Technology College near Peaktaw village, Chanthagyi pagoda which suffered quake damages. Then, the chief minister and party offered flowers, water and lights to Chanthagyi pagoda.—Tun Ko Ko( Yinmabin)
