Sagaing, 14 October
Sagaing Township has exceeded its rain-fed paddy cultivation target for the 2025–2026 fiscal year, according to the Township Department of Agriculture.
The Township had initially planned to cultivate 26,116 acres of rain-fed paddy. However, it successfully planted 26,126 acres, surpassing the target by 10 acres and exceeding the previous year’s total by one acre.
To support this achievement, the Township Agriculture Department is actively conducting field education programs focusing on improved farming practices, including seed selection, soil and water management, and other techniques aimed at boosting yields. Additionally, the department is providing quality seeds and agricultural inputs such as fertilizers to villages engaged in rain-fed paddy farming during the current growing season.— U Nay Lin Aung
