Kyaukse, 28 October

In the 2025–2026 financial year, the Sama Agricultural Technology Training Center in Kyaukse Township, Mandalay Region, successfully cultivated 16,504 acres of various crops during the rainy season, according to the Township Agriculture Department.

The center, which operates under the Kyaukse District and oversees the village tracts of Pankhwa, Kyi Pya, Thin Pyo, Kyi Eik, Dwe Hla, Anauk Ngasu, and Sha Pin, has grown a diverse range of crops. These include 7,508 acres of paddy, 1,867 acres of green gram, 1,273 acres of assorted beans, 265 acres of corn, 616 acres of millet, 740 acres of chili, 1,066 acres of sunflower, 568 acres of vegetables, 98 acres of peanuts, 1,013 acres of cattle feed, and 1,490 acres of sesame.

While irrigation water is mainly used for cultivation, groundwater and rainwater supplement areas without access to irrigation. The District and Township Agricultural Coordination Teams, together with departmental officials, are cooperating closely with farmers to ensure the successful growth and yield of all crops.— Thet Maung (Kyaukse)
