Seikphyu Township in Magway Region has successfully cultivated 10,574 acres of rain-fed paddy this year, exceeding its target of 10,536 acres, according to the Township Agriculture Department.
Local farmers were provided with technical support, quality seeds, and training on proper cultivation methods to ensure high yields and sustainable farming. Various water sources — including electric pumping systems, dams, underground reservoirs, and rainwater — were utilized to support the cultivation process.
Farmers in the township have mainly grown Aung Naing Toe, Sar Pho Tha, Sin Thu Kha, and Eyeyarmin rice varieties, and the paddy fields are reportedly thriving.— Ko Zwe (Anyamye)
