THE State is prioritizing the socioeconomic development of all regions and states throughout the country, and local communities play a crucial role in making these development initiatives successful. Active participation by residents is essential in diligent efforts to ensure improvement across the nation. When communities invest in improving their own areas, the benefits extend not only locally but also contribute to the broader growth of the country.

Agriculture remains a central focus, with activities thriving in all regions. Efforts are being made to increase peracre yields and ensure efficient crop production. Moreover, oil crops are being cultivated to guarantee sufficient cooking oil for the population, with plans to establish reliable oilseed supply chains and oil-refining facilities. Furthermore, the production of marketable crops such as rubber and coffee is being expanded to generate income and enhance the economic value of agricultural activities.

Beyond agriculture, attention is being given to livestock farming and fisheries, as well as other water-resource-based production activities. These sectors are being developed alongside crop cultivation to strengthen regional economies. Coastal and recreational areas must be driven not only to support local livelihoods but also to attract domestic and international tourists. Every individual is encouraged to contribute to the economic and social progress of their community with a sense of pride. Environmental conservation is also a key priority, and tree-planting initiatives are implemented to maintain ecological balance.

The State is actively supporting entrepreneurs in all potential sectors, providing the necessary capital and resources to encourage development. Airport and port facilities are being upgraded to facilitate the export of water-resource-based products, while infrastructure in coastal tourist areas, including piers and bridges, is being improved to enhance the smooth movement of goods and visitors. Meanwhile, educational institutions are producing skilled human resources in science and technology, supporting long-term economic and technical advancement.

Myanmar’s neighbouring countries have a high demand for fishery products and other aquatic products. To meet these market needs, Domestic production of feed and natural aquatic resources and expanding aquaculture are being ensured, while inshore and offshore fishing activities are being developed with full government support. Entrepreneurs have to expand fisheries and shrimp farming, in which the government is providing the capital and technical assistance for their growth.

High production costs, fluctuating demand, and illegal trade have previously raised prices and reduced government revenue. To address this, efforts are being made to maintain fair market prices, eliminate illegal trade, and promote domestic production to replace imports. Local and national economic development is strengthened, thereby contributing to both regional and national prosperity.
