CRIMINAL exploitation is one of the most heinous acts in human society. The consequences arising from such exploitation can easily destroy an individual’s life and even bring down an entire nation.

Those who commit crimes act solely for their own benefit, without ever considering morality. However, when they eventually face the punishment of the law, they experience both personal and emotional suffering as a result of their misdeeds. At that point, no one can come to their rescue. Therefore, from the moment one begins their journey in life and gains understanding, everyone must avoid making selfish decisions that form the basis of criminal acts. Through this, people can refrain from actions that harm others, such as bribery, oppression, exploitation, or verbal abuse.

Today’s world is facing a variety of challenges. Moreover, the human society is trying to overcome tragedies, inequalities and injustices, many of which are tied to corruption. With 1.9 billion young people in the world, fighting corruption is vital for the future of nearly a quarter of the global population.

The campaign for International Anti-Corruption Day 2024- 2025 focuses on the role young guardians of integrity play as advocates, raising awareness about corruption and its impacts on their communities. They will actively participate in discussions, share their experiences and propose innovative solutions to combat corruption. The campaign will amplify the voices of integrity leaders of tomorrow, allowing them to express their concerns and aspirations, with the hope that their appeals will be heard and acted upon.

In line with the theme set for the International Anti-Corruption Day: “Uniting with Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow’s Integrity”, everyone has to take care of their activities to be free from corruption so as to build themselves with integrity while shaping a peaceful, safe and prosperous society. If so, individuals from the society will have the chance to enjoy the heavenly abode and can leave a better legacy for new generations. This theme highlights the crucial role that young people play in fighting corruption and building a future with greater integrity and transparency.

Corruption is a complex social, political and economic phenomenon that affects all countries. Corruption undermines democratic institutions, slows economic development and contributes to governmental instability. As such, everyone has the right to experience happiness and peace within their community. In order to live with dignity in society, everyone must change their mindsets to avoid engaging in criminal or harmful behaviour and work toward building a joyful and harmonious life.
