U Bo Thin, a member of the Shwedagon Pagoda's Board of Trustees, has announced that the Garu Dhamma Day ceremony will be held at the Shwedagon Pagoda in Dagon Township, Yangon Region, on the upcoming full moon day of Tawthalin (6 September).
"As per our annual tradition, the Garu Dhamma Day ceremony will begin in the morning with an offering of a dawn meal to the Shwedagon Pagoda, including food, fruits, flowers, cool water, oil lamps, and incense. Afterwards, the programme will continue with a ceremony for taking precepts, a ceremony for sharing merits, the offering of Waso robes and other donations, followed by the offering of the day's meal," said U Bo Thin. — ASH/KNN
