MYANMA Railways is op­erating a sightseeing train on the Taunggyi-Paw­mu-Taunggyi route for tourists to enjoy the sce­nic beauty of Taunggyi City during the Taunggyi Tazaungdine Festival from 1 to 4 November.

 

The one-way Taung­gyi-Pawmu journey spans 11.41 miles and takes ap­proximately 1.5 hours. The train stops for 15 minutes near the Bawa Thanthaya area to allow passengers to enjoy natural land­scapes before arriving at Pawmu Station at 10:30 am. After a 30-minute turnaround, the train departs Pawmu at 11 am and returns to Taunggyi Station by 12:30 pm.

 

The train consists of two upper-class carriages, three ordinary carriages, and one guard carriage, with a total capacity of 108 passengers – 36 in upper class and 72 in ordinary class. Ticket prices are K10,000 per person for first class and K5,000 per person for ordinary class.

 

After the festival, the service will continue on weekends and public holidays, and entire train rentals are available for tour companies, travel agencies, and private schools at the specified rates. — MNA/KZL
