IN an effort to strengthen the cooperation in the tourism in­dustry between Myanmar and Sri Lanka, the business dele­gation led by the Sri Lankan ambassador had a meeting with the Union of Myanmar Travel Association (UMTA).

 

By the invitation of the Em­bassy of Sri Lanka, the meeting was held a few days ago, aiming to strengthen the bilateral co­operation in the tourism sector and explore new business op­portunities reciprocally benefi­cial for the two countries.

 

The two parties discussed the travel sector development, the networking of airlines, en­couraging the tourist arrival increased and establishing business cooperation. UMTA said it believes the meeting will be a good foundation for enhancing cooperation in the travel sector of Myanmar and Sri Lanka.

 

UMTA said it will continue working on international coop­eration for the development of the tourism industry. — MT/ZS
