THE Ministry of Religious Af­fairs and Culture organized a ceremony to sign the registra­tion of the Statute of the Parish of the Patriarchal Exarchate of South East Asia, Russian Orthodox Church, at the Sum­mit Parkview Hotel in Yangon yesterday.

Deputy Minister U Aye Tun said the two countries signed the Letter of Agreement on granting permission to im­plement religious work in Nay Pyi Taw on 18 February 2025. The ministry will provide the needed assistance to the Rus­sian Orthodox Church regard­ing the construction of office and religious buildings, funding activities, bank accounts and seeking approvals for religious activities under the law.

The director-general of the Department of Religious Af­fairs and Abbot His Eminence Sergiy signed the registration of the Statue of the Parish of the Patriarchal Exarchate of South East Asia, Russian Orthodox Church, as per par­agraph 5.1 of LOA. — MNA/ KTZH
