IN this year’s peak season, the visitor arrival to Taungpula located at Watwun village-tract in PyinOoLwin Township has mounted to even some thousands, said a member of the trustee board, U Kyaw Soe.
The arrival of pilgrims to Taungpula has become large as of this year’s Thadingyut and shelters and tents for staying overnight have been provided free.
“Recently, we have received many pilgrims from Yangon, Mandalay, Bago and other regions and states. The visitor arrival generally increases on public holidays and prominent religious holidays, even some thousands on some days. We have provided accommodation and photo-shooting sites for pilgrims,” U Kyaw Soe told the Global New Light of Myanmar.
In addition, the trustee board has received many phone calls saying they would like to visit Taungpula during the journey to PyinOoLwin flower festival which has been scheduled to celebrate in December, he said. At Taungpula, breakfast, lunch and dinner as free meals have been served for all visitors.
The arrival of pilgrims to Taungpula was also large in 2022-2023 peak season and it has been larger this year than last year. — MT/ZS
