A ceremony to open the natural disaster management course 1/2019 took place at the Dekkhinathiri District General Administration Office, Nay Pyi Taw this morning with the aim of engaging in management of natural disaster.

Union Minister of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Chairman of Myanmar National Committee for Women’s Affairs Dr Win Myat Aye attended the ceremony to mark International Women’s Day which was held at People’s Square here yesterday evening.

Basic farm equipment operating course 1/2019 was opened at No. 60 Mechanized Farming Centre in Wundwin Township this morning.

Accompanied by the speaker of the regional parliament, regional lawmakers, the deputy commissioner and township administrators, Chief Minister of Sagaing Region Dr. Myint Naing looked into progress of developmental tasks in Indaw and Wuntho Townships on Sunday.

The course instructors will give lectures on basic principles of natural disasters, disasters in Myanmar, climate change, mitigation of disaster risks and environmental conservation, knowledge about disaster management, review on early warning system, community-based disaster management, search and rescue and emergency hotline and cooperation.
