The Department of Immigration and Population office on U Ba Han Road in Thingangyun Township, Yangon Region is issuing Smart Cards (Biometric Cards) to local residents.
As part of the initiative, the department is electronically collecting and registering biographical and biometric data of individuals aged 10 and above residing in the country. Each registered individual will be assigned a Unique Identity Number (UID), consisting of 10 digits.
Applicants are required to present their Citizenship Scrutiny Cards or another official identification document issued by the government when registering their information.
Smart Cards are being issued daily from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., excluding public holidays.— Zaw Moe
