Tough group for Myanmar says U-19 women’s head coach

Myanmar U-19 Women’s Foot­ball Team head coach Daw Thet Thet Win said that Myanmar team is falling in a tight group against ASEAN powerhouses in the AFF U-19 Women’s Cham­pionship 2023.

 

“It will be a difficult group. However, there is one lucky thing for team Myanmar. My­anmar squad is having a super chance to observe the match between Thailand and the Phil­ippines at first and prepare according to the conditions of the match. In order to pass the group stage, we will seriously compete with every opponent,” she highlighted.

 

Thailand will take on the Philippines in the opening match of the tourney’s Group C at 7 pm Myanmar standard time on 6 July.

 

Team Myanmar will face the Philippines at 7 pm MST on 8 July and Thailand on 10 July.

 

The tourney is divided into three groups.

 

The first three teams from each group and one best sec­ond-placed team totalling four will advance to the semi-finals.

 

Host Indonesia is placed in the Group A with Cambodia, Laos and Timor-Leste while Viet Nam is in the Group B against Malaysia and Singapore.

 

The semifinals will be played on 13 July and the third and final matches will be con­vened on 15 July. — KZL
