THE Ministry of Hotels and Tourism hosted a “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation” photo contest on 9 September at the Office of the Department of Hotels and Tourism in Yangon to mark 2025 World Tourism Day.
Winners were selected by U Myint Htwe, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Hotels and Tourism, Lifetime Academy Award-winning director Alinka Kyawswa Pachi Soe Moe, and a panel of photographers.
The competition aimed to promote and preserve Myanmar’s natural landscapes, traditional culture, dress, ethnic traditions, and festivals by showcasing the winning photographs.
The contest attracted 52 participants who submitted a total of 343 photos. The prizes are as follows: first prize K900,000; second prize K700,000; third prize K500,000; fourth prize K300,000; fifth prize K200,000; and 20 consolation prizes of K150,000 each. — Arka Lin/MKKS
