THE Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and the Myanmar Traditional Lethwei Federation oversaw traditional Lethwei challenge bouts organized by Pride Glory Honour, held at Theinbyu Gymnasium in Yangon at 1 pm yesterday. A total of ten bouts took place.

 

In the men’s four-round bouts, Gaw Pa Ka (Khe Yuwah) versus Lar Kapaw (Yoya Kyar), Htet Lin (Factory) versus Kyaw Na­ing Tun (New White Blood), Kyaw Wai Yan (Top One) versus Kyauk Yine (New White Blood), and Africa (555 Mix Sports) versus Aung Hein Swan (Top One) all ended in draws, entertaining the audience.

 

In the men’s five-round challenge, Salai Thang Khwi Shein (Kyar Ma Naing) defeated Shan Tauk (Zar Htet Meiktila) in the second round with a decisive uppercut punch, forcing Shan Tauk to concede.

 

Ye Lin Oo (Doh Yoya) and Si Toe (Khe Yuwah) fought to a draw despite a full-round exchange of strikes. Saw Ba Hein (Factory) won by second-round kick against Saw Min Naing (MFC). Htun Min Naing (MFC) lost in the first round to Saw Htoo Aung (Khe Yuwah) after a heavy punch to the neck rendered him uncon­scious.

 

Raman (Khe Yuwah) versus Aung Khine (Factory) ended in a draw after both fighters landed equal strikes through the full rounds.

 

In the women’s three-round bout, Lin Sanda Htwe and Malar Win battled strongly but the match concluded in a draw. — Arkar Linn/KZL
