Two people were killed after a 22-truck crashed into two motorbikes in Ottwin Township, Bago Region, the Ministry of Home Affairs said.
The fatal accident occurred between mileposts 150/2 and 150/3 on the Yangon-Mandalay Road in Ottwin Township, Bago Region at about 4:30 p.m. on 21 March. A 22-wheeled truck driven by an unidentified man collided with two motorbikes coming from an opposite direction after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
A woman named Ma Moe Moe Win, 40, and a man identified as U Thaung Nyunt, 55, died on the spot but the truck driver fled the scene of accident. An investigation into the case is ongoing by the local police.
