Mogaung, 28 July
Two houses were damaged in a fire that broke out on the morning of 28 July in Mogaung Town, Monghnyin District, Kachin State this morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:50 a.m. at the two-story residence of U Myint Aung, located in Natkyikon Ward. The house, measuring 27 feet long by 18 feet wide and 18 feet high, with a corrugated iron roof and wooden floor, was completely destroyed. The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical short circuit.
A total of 15 auxiliary firefighters and 8 personnel from the Fire Services Department, supported by three fire engines, responded to the scene. The fire was successfully brought under control by 11:15 a.m., after a 15-minute operation, using 4,000 gallons of water from a water tanker.
Following the incident, the Township Police Station has taken legal action against U Myint Aung for negligence leading to the fire.— Than Lwin Oo (IPRD)
