Two houses destroyed in fire in Ye-U Tsp

Ye-U, 7 April

           

Two houses were destroyed in a fire that broke out at around 5 pm yesterday  in Seik village, some 12 miles north of Ye-U town in Shwebo district, Sagaing region, with no casualties reported.

 

Shortly after receiving a telepone report from  a dutiful person, local firefighters rushed to the fire scene together with five fire engines to put out the fire. The fire fighters took almost an hour to bring the fire under control.

           

Two houses, one cow shed, a motorbike, rice, household goods and some personal belongings including gold were lost in the fire. The cost of the fire was estimated at about six million. The authorities believed that the fire was started by an ember left in the kitchen of U Aung Myint Tun .

 

Local police pressed charges against U Aung Myint Tun for negligence of fire.—Than Htike (Ye-U)
