Two players added to Myanmar U-22 men’s football squad

The 28 tentative Myanmar players who will travel to Cambodia for the AFF U22 Championship have been announced by the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) recently.

 

The Myanmar National League clubs Southern Myanmar’s forward Chan Nyein and Magway FC striker Soe Lwin Lwin have been added to the team which is now undergoing training in Yangon to replace tentative Myanmar striker Zin Min Tun. Magway FC’s striker Zin Min Tun sustained an ankle injury in a MNL match against Yadanarbon FC. The two footballers joined Myanmar U-22 men’s squad on 6 February.

 

The White Angels squad was nominated by Bulgarian Head Coach Velizar Emilov Popov for the AFF U22 Championship, the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship qualification, and the 30th SEA Games, the MFF said. U Chit Naing and U Soe Myat Min take charge of the Myanmar U-22 men’s squad as assistant coaches. After the event, the squad will play the qualification for the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship on home soil. 

 

Myanmar will compete with Japan, Timor-Leste and Macau in a round robin format in the Group-I. The group winner will qualify directly for the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship to be held in Thailand.—By Kyaw Htike Soe
