TATMADAW members who fought bravely on the frontlines and achieved successive victories were warmly welcomed on their victorious return. A ceremony to welcome and honour them took place on 4 November at their local military base in Mongpong.
Commander of the Eastern Central Command Maj-Gen Soe Myat Htut, along with officers and other ranks, family members, departmental officials, local ethnic people, and teachers, attended the event.
During the welcome, the Commander and other attendees presented the victorious returning soldiers with sprigs of Aungthabye (Eugenia leaves) and placed garlands upon them. Traditional drumming, singing and dancing were also added to the welcome. — MNA/KZL
