Vietnamese airports handled nearly 83 million passengers in the first eight months of this year, up over 10 percent year on year, local daily Dan Viet reported Monday, citing the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.
International passenger traffic rose 13 percent to nearly 31 million during the period, while domestic travel increased 8 percent to over 52 million.
Air cargo volume exceeded 1 million tons, marking a rise of almost 15 percent, according to the report.
From January to August, Vietnamese airlines carried 39 million passengers, up nearly 9 percent year on year, including 13 million international passengers and 26 million domestic ones.
