THE work coordination meeting of the National Single Window Implementation was held yesterday at the Department of Internal Revenue, Office 46, and attended and addressed by Dr Kan Zaw, Committee Chairman, Union Minister for Finance and Revenue.

At the meeting, the Union minister highlighted that Myanmar has been implementing the National Single Window to facilitate trade and free flows of goods in inter-ASEAN and globally. He noted that the National Single Window has to be implemented in line with the provisions of the General Annexe to the Kyoto Protocol, as revised by the World Customs Organization, Trade Facilitation Agreement of the World Trade Organization, and ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement. It aims to make the clearance process of export and import timely with advanced technology in the System. For the smooth implementation process, the National Single Window Implementation Steering Committee was established by the Office of the National Defence and Security Council on 12 August 2025. For the process to be implemented by 2028, he highlighted that all trade-related departments and the private sector have to coordinate effective participation in the System, including necessary funding approvals, technical and legal procedures, in a timely manner.

The committee secretary director-general of the Customs Department then presented the progress of the implementation of the System and matters to be implemented thereafter.

Next, the committee vice-chairpersons and committee members discussed trade-related matters, including banking, payment system, investment promotion, legal and technical matters to be implemented systematically and in a timely manner.

Afterwards, the committee chairman made recommendations and coordinated necessary actions and adjourned the meeting. — MoFR
