YGEA to open 32nd gold training course for free on 2 May

The Yangon Gold Entrepreneur Association (YGEA) will open the 32nd gold training course for free on 2 May at the office of the YGEA located in Pabedan Town­ship, Yangon. The training will last for ten days until 11 May.

 

The report states that the YGEA will also provide the 13th intake of knowledge-sharing ses­sions on money laundering and terrorism financing, which will share the following knowledge: money laundering, gold-digging, gold purifying, pure gold market trading, basic knowledge on cal­culation for opening gold shop, goldsmith, applied gold math­ematics, gold pawn shop, gold and silver coins, and gems and gold shop opening respectively.

 

Application forms to attend the training can be obtained from the YGEA. Interested applicants can submit the application forms with three photos. However, the report states that the training will only be available for limited seats.

 

The Anti-Money Laundering Central Body (AMLCB) of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued Directive No 2/2022, of which Section 3 (g) of Chapter 2 pre­scribes that precious stone trad­ing licence will be granted only for those who have the certificate of accomplishing the training of combating money laundering and terrorism financing.

 

The YGEA submitted a to­tal of 21 applications for getting precious stone trading licenc­es to the registration offices in Pabedan, Lanmadaw and Latha townships on 1 April 2023. — NN/ TMT
