THE project opening ceremony took place yesterday morning for solar-powered streetlights and lamp posts in Thakayta Township at the U-Energy (UREC) natural gas power plant in Thakayta Township under the Friendship with Foreign Countries (YNPAFFC) programme.
Attendees included the Yangon Region chief minister, officials from Yunnan Province, the deputy secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Yunnan Province governor, the Chinese ambassador to Myanmar, and members of the Yunnan Province delegation.
Solar-powered streetlights and lamp posts will be installed in areas of Thakayta Township that lack access to electricity. — Zwe Htet Ko (IPRD)/MKKS
