THE Yangon Region Investment Committee (YRIC) endorsed seven foreign enterprises and one joint venture to make investments of US$12.408 million in the manufacturing sector, at the meeting held on 26 November, creating 6,786 jobs for locals.
“YRIC granted seven wholly foreign businesses and one joint venture to operate manufacturing of manufacturing of various kinds of wearing apparel, garment, poly resin ornaments, Christmas ornaments, home decorations, ceramic, Porcelain Figurines, Cold Cast Bronze Ornaments, collectibles of earphone and accessories on a Cutting, Making and Packaging basis and marketing and distribution of various kinds of plastic bags,” said an official of the YRIC.
The committee members inspected general issues of 18 companies, including the capital expansion of three businesses. The regional investment committee has been endorsing investment projects in accordance with rules and regulations under the Myanmar Investment Law to spur investments and create more job opportunities. — ASH/KK
