The first session of the sixteenth plenary meeting of the Eighth 47-member State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee was admin­istrated at the Wizaya Mingala Dhamma Thabin of Thiri Mingala Kaba Aye Hill in Yangon yester­day.

 

Present at the occasion were members of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee led by Presiding Nayaka Sayadaw of Thanlyin Min Kyaung Pahtama­pyan Monastery Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Dr Bhaddanta Can­dima Bhivamsa, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin and other relevant officials.

 

Secretary of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivam­sa presided over the meeting. Joint Secretary Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Siha Nandaka acted as the master of ceremonies.Union Minister U Tin Oo Lwin reported on religious affairs-related matters.

 

Then, Sayadaws reported on Vinicchaya, religious affairs and educational matters. The Sayad­aws discussed Vinicchaya affairs and concluded the first session.

 

The Vinicchaya affairs, reli­gious-related matters and edu­cational matters were discussed by the Sayadaws at the second session at 1 pm.

 

The Yangon Region govern­ment offered alms for the whole day to the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee member Sayadaws, who attended the cer­emony yesterday. — MNA/KTZH
