The medical specialist teams in­cluding professors and physicians from Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw are offering the medical treatments in the States and Re­gions. Medical specialist teams from North Okkalapa, Thingang­yun and Insein General Hospitals, and University of Medicine 2, Yan­gon travelled to Dawei in Tanin­thayi Region from 8 to 10 March and gave the medical treatment to local people.

 

Over the course of these medical trips, a total of 2,724 pa­tients, including individuals from five townships of Dawei District and surrounding areas, received treatment for a range of medi­cal conditions. These conditions encompassed cardiac diseases, gastrointestinal issues, neuro­logical ailments, orthopaedic and dermatological problems, among others.

 

The medical check-ups in­cluded various procedures such as Echocardiography, Oesopha­go-Gastro-Duodenoscopy (OGD) Scope, Colonoscopy, CT scans, glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) tests, X-ray examinations, ultra­sound scans, and electrocardio­grams (ECG). Patients requiring further treatment were referred to hospitals concerned in Yangon.

 

Chief Minister U Myat Ko, regional ministers of Taninthayi Region Government and officials comforted and provided nutrition­al support to the patients. They also provided cash assistant for medical service of the specialist teams.

 

These medical specialist teams conducted field trips every Saturday and Sunday in 2024. These medical trips reached 11th time including this Dawei medi­cal trip. — MNA/KZL
