A total of 86.9 kilos of heroin worth K 2.17 billion was seized in Pyigyitagun Township of Mandalay Region, according to the Myanmar Police Force.

 

Acting on a tip off, a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force searched the TOYOTA PROBOX and SUPER CUSTOM vehicles on 71(c) street between 114th and 115th streets in Pyigyidagun Township of Mandalay Region at 3:00pm on July 5 and arrested Khaing Soe, Nan Aye Phaung, Nan Yein Uam and Tun lin Aung along with 22 kilos of heroin.

 

As a result of investigation, a combined team confiscated 64.9 kilos of heroin in a house rented by Tun Lin Aung on 71st street in Sa/2 Ward in Chanmyathazi Township of Mandalay Region. The seized drugs are reportedly carried from Shan State to Mandalay.

 

The offenders have been prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law and further investigation is underway.— MNA
