Four schools in Pwintbyu Township of Magway Region are temporarily closed starting from the morning of July 10 as water level in Irrawaddy River increases, according to the Township Education officer’s office.
To ensure the safety of teachers and students, more two schools are temporary closed on July 11 as water level in Irrawaddy River rises form continuous rain, totaling four schools including Thankai B.E.P.S., Kukyi B.E.P.S., Theingon B.E.P.S. and Kyaungsu B.E.P.S. in Pwintbyu Township of Magway Region are temporarily closed starting from July 10 due to the inflow of water from the Irrawaddy River.
The students from the closed schools will be compensated for the missed lessons and will be given over time to study when the floodwaters decrease.—Hlaing Win Lay (Pwintbyu Mye)
