105 kilos of 300 heroin blocks worth over K 1.57 billion were confiscated in Tachilek Township of eastern Shan State, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
Acting on a tip off, a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force stopped and searched two TOYOTA CROWN vehicles accompanied by Sai Wanna, Nyi Lay and Aung Win in Weinkyauk Ward in the town of Tachilek at about 5:30 pm on 9 July and captured a total of 105 kilos of 300 blocks of heroin worth over K 1.57 billion.
According to investigation, the seized heroin blocks were carried from Namhsan Township of southern Shan State to Tachilek Township of eastern Shan State.
The police have taken legal action against the offenders and an investigation is underway to identify the perpetrators of the crime chain. — MNA
