THE government is conduct­ing rapid assessments of the damage in earthquake-affected areas and carrying out rescue and relief operations in a timely manner. Additionally, interna­tional humanitarian aid contin­ues to arrive, including rescue teams, medical teams of doc­tors and nurses, humanitarian relief supplies, and medicines from various countries.

 

Yesterday afternoon, a search and rescue team, along with doctors, nurses, humani­tarian aid supplies, and medi­cines from Laos and Kunming, China, arrived at the Tatmad­aw airport in Nay Pyi Taw.

 

Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Min­istry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement welcomed the newly arrived internation­al rescue teams, doctors, and nurses at the airport.

 

These teams will be de­ployed to different earth­quake-hit areas to take search and rescue measures and pro­vide medical treatment to the affected communities without delay. — MNA/KNN
